40x40.0 Gb/s RZ Transmission over 3x40 dB SSMF Spans using 27.4 dB Contra-Raman Gain and +27 dBm EDFA

Résumé

High-power EDFA seem appropriate candidates for DWDM festons links. Indeed, we experimentally demonstrated their use in the transmission of 40 channels covering full C-band at 40.0 Gb/s over 3x40dB-loss SSMF spans using conventional RZ modulation.
